[9/7/2014] Replacing MapleStory.exe file

Here's a short guide on how to replace your MapleStory.exe guide. It's a simple task but there's still a lot of people asking how to do it...

First of all, download the new MapleStory.exe file from here

Next, copy/cut the new MapleStory.exe file that you have just downloaded

Now, locate your MapleStory folder that contains the MapleStory.exe file as shown below

Lastly, paste the new MapleStory.exe file that you copied/cut just now. When asked if you want replace it, choose yes and you're done!

Scarlion & Targa Leech Guide

1.  Create an expedition
2.  Add an attacker (preferably one who can pin)
3.  [Optional] Add a Bishop or Phantom with maxed Holy Symbol
4.  Have your attacker pin Scarlion at the right side of the map
5.  Hit the boss once (preferably during Cancel Weapon Attack to avoid Miss)
6.  Drag your Bishop or Phantom into a different party when your attacker about to down the Scarlion
7.  [Optional] Cast any EXP related buffs before he downs Scarlion
8.  When the Scarlion B1 is defeated, you should be at level 51 and 99.99%. Have your attacker hit Scarlion until he spawns mobs. Do not down Scarlion B2 before the mobs are summoned. Kill a mob and level to 52. Ask your attacker to down Scarlion B2. Repeat this step with Scarlion B3. As a result, the 1st Scarlion should level you to 56 and the 1st Targa should bring you to about 62.

Some other info...

1. B1 damage should be less than 1000 
2. B2 damage should be around 1200 - 2000, job dependent 
3. B3 damage should be around 3000 - 5000, job dependent 
4. If your HP is less than 4000, you can have your Bishop or Phantom cast Holy Magic Shell
5. Your hit rate is 100% during Cancel Weapon Attack, regardless of your level

EXP Multipliers Guide

1. Normal EXP: 100%
2. Normal EXP + Elven Blessing: 110%
3. Normal EXP + Fairy Pendant: 130%
4. Normal EXP + Elven Blessing + Fairy Pendant: 140%
5. Normal EXP + HS: 150%
6. Normal EXP + HS + Elven Blessing: 165%
7. Normal EXP + HS + Elven Blessing + Fairy Pendant: 210%
8. Normal EXP + EXP Coupon: 120% or 150% or 200%
9. Normal EXP + EXP Coupon + HS + Elven Blessing: 198% or 247.5% or 330%
10. Normal EXP + EXP Coupon + HS + Elven Blessing + Fairy Pendant: 252% or 315% or 420%
11. Normal EXP + EXP Coupon + HS + Elven Blessing + Fairy Pendant + EXP Accumulation Potion: 277.2% or 346.5% or 462%
12. Normal EXP + EXP Coupon + HS + Elven Blessing + Fairy Pendant + EXP Accumulation Potion + EXP Event: 554.4% or 693% or 924%

MapleSEA & Windows 8

Here are a few solutions to errors faced by MapleSEA players running on Windows 8:

1. Go to this link, http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=29 and download Windows C++. Unfortunately, it doesn't come pre-installed in Windows 8. Once you've installed Windows C++, run MapleStory as Administrator and DO NOT change the compatibility with any earlier versions.


2. Download and install Steam. Then add MapleStory into the game list and launch it. It might not work all the time but just keep launching it. I tried it and got it to work 4/5 times.

Maple Story Live

I found the mobile version of Maple Story on Google Play! Check it out...

This is what the character selection screen looks like. 

The only available FREE job is Dual Blade. Mechanic and Demon Slayer requires you to purchase with real money...

Check out the keys... Every thing from Inventory to Skills are all available in the Menu button. Oh ya, Candy Shop is the Cash Shop and yes, the currency is Candy.

And the Demon Slayer! Didn't see any Mechanic in the Candy Shop, so not sure how to unlock it...

Oh ya, did I mention that the Dual Blade has a pretty interesting storyline? Here's a summary...

Black Wings attack Kerning City > Kidnaps you (Son of Lady Syl & Dark Lord) and yes, Dark Lord knocked up Lady Syl > Black Wings make you and your best friend Cain think they're the good guys > You meet Ryden and Dances with Balrog who tells you the truth...

MapleSEA v.1.23 Patch Solution

First of all, patch your MapleStory client via auto patch or manual patch (manual patch recommended)

After patching, download the new HackShield folder here and extract it

Once you've extracted its contents, replace it with your current HackShield folder in your MapleStory folder

You can now run the game. Do note that the HackShield loading will take awhile the first time around because it will be downloading new stuffs. Just wait and you should be done around 5 mins or so depending on traffic. 

If you keep getting stuck in the HackShield loading (totally not moving), just go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" and open the file "hosts" with notepad then DELETE the words below:

121.52.204.250 hackshield.maplesea.com
